Hope Solo sat down with the team of “CBS This Morning” to discuss her platform and the change she hopes to bring to the game of soccer by running to become the first female president of the U.S. Soccer Federation.

On the field, Solo won two Olympic gold medals and a World Cup title, but off the field was where she faced bigger challenges. She fought against injustices, such as gender equity, but never felt as if she truly was able to make a difference. That is why she is back to continue the fight that she began in order to alleviate the issues that are currently a part of U.S. Soccer. Her candidate platform consists of ideas such as player development at all ages, gender inclusivity and equal pay, as well as accessibility and transparency.

Eight candidates have been slated and the election will take place during U.S. Soccer’s National Council Meeting on Feb. 10 in Orlando.
