Hope Solo recently had a unique opportunity to meet with some of the brightest young minds from across the globe and came away enlightened by the experience.

In November, Hope attended the One Young World Summit in Thailand, where she served as  a counselor for two young delegates and worked with them to help hammer out possible solutions for some of the greatest issues facing society.

“AT FIRST I SAID ‘WHAT AM I DOING HERE? WHY DO I BELONG? HOW CAN I CHANGE THE WORLD AND INSPIRE THESE YOUNG KIDS WHO ARE SO BRILLIANT ALREADY? WHAT CAN I DO?’…MY JOB WAS TO TAKE MY TWO YOUNG DELEGATES AND EMPOWER THEM AND LIFT THEM UP AND INTRODUCE THEM WITH EXCITEMENT FOR WHAT THEY HAVE TO OFFER THE WORLD.”

It was a wonderful trip for Hope. She of course enjoyed seeing the beautiful sights of Thailand and inspiring the youth in attendance—but she also came away moved by the time spent with the some of the future thought leaders of the world.

“I left there feeling empowered,” she said, “and feeling like the world really is beautiful.”
